Concealed Carry

For those of you who read regularly, ya'll know my wife is going to take a concealed carry class. When we mentioned this fact to my brother, he decided to take it with her. Then my step mom thought it would be a good idea to get her's, too. My oldest brother decided to get his, also. My brother's wives decided to get theirs with everyone else, and my uncle decided to pony up and do it too.

We currently have 7 family members getting their concealed carry in the same class. They have all signed up for next weekend, and have paid their money.

Score one (or 7, as you prefer) for the 2A crowd!

Good for you! I’m assuming your state is similar to mine (KY) in that you have classroom time and then a written and shooting test. Here you can get it all done in a day and (if you don’t let you license expire) don’t have to do it again. In your state do you have to test and carry a specific gun or can you use any once you’ve passed?

Wilson-
Here in louisiana, you can carry any gun, once you've passed. You can do it all in one day here, if it's offered that way. Not all places offer it as a one shot deal, but the place where the family is going does. They will have to submit their paperwork to the state, but everything else is done in house.

Louisiana is only behind florida in how gun friendly their laws are. Luckily i lived in florida for a while. Thats where i got my permit, and, frankly, its one of the best, as far as reciprocity and ease of renewal are concerned.
