So different. One has a hammer, one doesn't. One is single action. One is double action. One is a single stack .45acp, one is a double stack 9mm. One is polymer, one is steel
I could go on. These are separated by... what? 70 years of technology? They are both pinnacles of a design theory that suggests form follows function. Both are beautiful, largely due to their simplicity and ruggedness. Both have staying power. They are arguably the 2 most ubiquitous semi-auto handguns on the planet. Both can be disassembled and reassembled with minimal training and few tools.
The Internet has flamewars over which is the better handgun, but for as different as they are... they sure have a hell of a lot in common.
I feel equally comfortable with either at my side.
