Bee Grease is a roughly 50-50 mixture of lard and beeswax. It's a great leather restorative.
It's amazing what a little polishing and care does to an old pair of shoes.

Need a good warm adult beverage on a cold winter day? Try this:
Put 1 teaspoon warm butter in a coffee mug.
Add 1/2 teaspoon each cinnamon and nutmeg.
Add 1 teaspoon brown sugar
Add 1 teaspoon vanilla
Add 1 shot dark rum
Add 3 shots boiling water
Stir and enjoy!
Same truck, 12 hours later. Wife has to go in to work to feed the doggies (she works at a vet clinic). We were smart enough to put her car under the carport last night, so we don't have to clean and defrost it, first. Also, her work is only about 1.5 miles from the house, so at least she doesn't have to get on any major roads.
I got out some of my 18th century stuff today, and looked through it. I haven't made it to a reenactment in almost 2 years, because things keep coming up at the worst time. I hope I can make the one in march, but I don't know if it'll happen. At any rate, I love the hobby, and have some nice gear. I just would like to get the chance to do it more.
So we got our little Nissan Versa almost a year ago. I just changed the oil for the fourth time, and I'm still impressed. I've never owned a vehicle that didn't either burn or leak SOME oil between oil changes.
Damn, it's nice to have a reliable vehicle.
While in Florida, Grams told me she got a new gun. She said it was a 6-shot Colt, in .38spl. I was pretty amazed at what I saw. I'm a bone-deep Smith man, as far as wheel guns go, but the Cobra she showed me was a beauty.
It's an earlier model, as the ejector rod isn't shrouded, but if memory serves, it was made after 67, since the grip is short, with the stocks meeting underneath the grip frame.
If there's a Colt collector out there *cough* (Old NFO) *cough* who could narrow down the year range, I'd be interested. Sadly, I didn't jot down the serial number to help narrow it down more.
